Seitz Group displays strong growth in 2022 and successful succession planning

The globally engaged Seitz Group is enjoying strong growth in the market for solenoid valves. Active in the hydrogen market, the company makes a valuable contribution to decarbonization. The family business was transferred to its third generation at the beginning of 2023.

Successful in the market

As a global technology company in the technically demanding solenoid valve market, the Seitz Group once again managed to grow strongly in a challenging international environment in 2022, and at the same time achieve success. Investment in employees and a in universally applied corporate culture play a key role in this success. The basis for this is a consistent orientation towards the corporate values, and a demonstration of these values to the customers. In addition, there has been major investment in Switzerland as a production location for many years, resulting in a high degree of automation, hence ensuring some of its competitiveness, which is of course essential for survival.

The new innovations introduced by the Seitz Group every year are another key aspect of the company's success. The company has been increasingly focused on the promising hydrogen market for some time now. The ambition is to make the refueling experience with a hydrogen-powered vehicle equivalent to that of established fuel types. But the company also offers innovative solutions for other applications, such as hydrogen storage and transportation. It has thus succeeded in taking a leading position in the rapidly growing H2 market. Succession within the family

Eugen Seitz founded the company in 1958 and then it was headed by Urs Seitz in its second generation. In 2017 the current CEO, Fabian Seitz, took over the operational management. Then at the beginning of 2023, ownership was also transferred to Fabian Seitz - the third generation. The succession process was started some time ago and carefully planned. Urs Seitz on this: "I am very pleased that our son has decided to continue the family business, which my father founded over 60 years ago, as its new, third-generation owner. After all, succession within a family can no longer be taken for granted today." Fabian Seitz adds: "I am extremely motivated and also very grateful to be able to lead such an innovative company into the future, with its great, highly committed workforce. I see a lot of potential when it comes to expanding the company internationally and accelerating decarbonization with our innovative solutions."

The Seitz Group is considered a leading provider of customized solutions for the solenoid valve market. High-quality valve technology has been developed, manufactured and distributed worldwide from the headquarters in Wetzikon since 1958, primarily for the beverage and energy market. One focus is currently on the hydrogen market, where the company holds a leading position in the fueling industry. Customers in over 70 countries are served from company headquarters in Switzerland and the branch office in China. The group is growing strongly, it currently employs around 100 people and it is run as an independent family business in its third generation.
