R&D:: Explosion protection
SEITZ has been manufacturing solenoids for application in potentially explosive areas since 1959.
The first solenoids were designed in special "s" protection systems in accordance with Swiss and German national regulations. Later, solenoids were also developed in other ignition protection systems in accordance with European regulations. Today there are designs in "flameproof enclosure", "increased security", "intrinsic safety" and "encapsulation".
It goes without saying that Quality Assurance requirements have constantly been adapted to current standards. This enabled us to obtain production Quality Assurance recognition pursuant to Appendix IV of Directive 94/9/EC of the PTB in 1998.
Our competence in the field of explosion prevention is currently demonstrated by the fact that large, well-known companies adopt SEITZ products and market them under their own names.
Membership of the "Swiss Electrical Engineering Committee for electrical equipment in potentially explosive areas" (TK31) for almost 20 years ensures that our expertise is constantly being updated. SEITZ customers also benefit from this specialised knowledge through the special training courses held for them.
